What information must an invoice contain?
A standard invoice issued by the invoicing program should contain the following:
- the word INVOICE
- a unique invoice reference number
- exact date of sale
- date of invoice issuance
- the seller’s name and contact information
- the buyer’s name and contact information
- exact data regarding the product/service
- information regarding the dates of completion/delivery
- the tax rate
- method(s) of payment
- the total amount due (the total due payment including the tax, indicated by means of numbers and words)
- data necessary for tax returns: NIP (Taxpayers' Identification Number) of the buyer and the seller
- any additional information (dispatch, receipt etc.)
- personal signatures of both parties concluding the transaction
