What information must an invoice contain?

A standard invoice issued by the invoicing program should contain the following:

• the word INVOICE
• a unique invoice reference number
• exact date of sale
• date of invoice issuance
• the seller’s name and contact information
• the buyer’s name and contact information
• exact data regarding the product/service
• information regarding the dates of completion/delivery
• the tax rate
• method(s) of payment
• the total amount due (the total due payment including the tax, indicated by means of numbers and words)
• data necessary for tax returns: NIP (Taxpayers' Identification Number) of the buyer and the seller
• any additional information (dispatch, receipt etc.)
• personal signatures of both parties concluding the transaction
